Lizzy and I had some more private time to talk and we discussed how our love developed. I told her about how I was stubborn at the beginning but I have loved her for a while. She seemed truly flattered. Then I wanted to spread the engagement so I wrote a letter of my good news to my aunt..who won't be so pleased. Wickham continues to ask me for money, but even that cannot bring down my good spirits. I am going to be a married man!
Darcy, I am so happy that we are to be wed! I never thought that you, of all people, would commit to a life long attachment to Mrs. Bennet. I must say that you continue to surprise me. Don't ever let Wickham or my sister bother you, for we are so much greater than either of them. Nothing will bring down OUR good spirits.
ReplyDeleteI could see this one coming. Darcy how rarely do you treat people with disrespect? The ones you do are the ones you love. So, that first ball when you were a mean man to Lizzy I knew you two were in love.
